Can I still submit courses to the old, paper-based registry?
We will continue to input data in to the paper-based registry for any forms/payment received through June 30, 2011. After that date, all forms/checks will be returned.
How do I enter a course into the new CE Registry?
If you are an active Certificate holder, you enter individual courses through your MyNCIDQ account. You may wish to review these step-by-step instructions.
What is the difference between an “NCIDQ-approved course” and a “non-NCIDQ-approved course” in the new registry?
NCIDQ is planning to phase in a review option for course providers, but it is not operational yet. Right now, the only NCIDQ-approved courses are our monographs and NCIDQ volunteer activities, such as certain task forces and exam graders. Everything else is considered non-approved.
Can I enter a course into the new registry if it is not approved by IDCEC?
Yes. You may enter any course.
Can I enter individual courses from industry events such as NeoCon?
Yes. Simply complete the information regarding the course content, domains, date, instructor, etc.
How do I know what “domain” my course falls into?
Select one or two that are the most appropriate for the subject. For example, a course that covers specifying carpet in a healthcare environment would include Health & Safety. If sustainability issues are also covered, then check that domain as well.
What does the “Welfare” Domain cover?
Welfare can be interpreted broadly. It includes psychological issues, such as mitigating unwanted noise, or color and materials selections to induce calm. It can also include design that enhances a client’s economic well-being, such as the design of retail spaces that increase sales.
Do I still have to pay $12/course to use the registry in MyNCIDQ?
No, the registry is free to active Certificate holders.
What happens to all the courses I’ve submitted to the old paper-based registry over the years?
The data in the paper-based system will remain until June 30, 2012. We recommend you print a copy of all your activity before then. If you are an active Certificate holder, you may wish to add your recent CE activity found on your old transcript into your new registry.
What if I need a transcript from the new registry to submit to my state board?
